England play Slovenia in a friendly and know a win in the following game against Croatia at Wembley will secure a place in the 2010 World Cup finals. After losing to Norway in their last qualifying game, Scotland face Macedonia at Hampden Park in the first of two must-win games.

Northern Ireland's chances of reaching their first World Cup finals since 1986 will become much clearer after they play Poland away and Slovakia at home. The Republic play away in Cyprus and will be looking to keep up the pressure on Group 8 leaders Italy.
